Ariadne is a localised mesh network communication infrastructure operated by the the same people that use it. By operating independently of large systems, Ariadne allows for local connection without the need for a provider. The network is open-source - ensuring transparency - and community-operated - meaning only you and your neighbours have the power to keep everybody connected.
The Network
The code that Ariadne runs on is open-source. Anybody can view or request to change how the network operates. This ensures that the network is transparent.
The Node
Every user connects to the Ariadne network through a piece of user-assembled hardware called a Node. Ariadne provides all the documentation needed for users to choose their own of way of connecting.
A Disconnected World
Over the last 50 years, the devastating effects of climate change have revealed the fragility of large network systems. Their reliability has become unpredictable and their model is unsustainable in the long term. Operating these systems only meant profits and power for oppressive corporations.
Today, this problem has exponentially worsened, with network corporations exploiting their users with mass censorship and surveillance. As a side effect, they pushed individuals further into isolation from their communities.
